Unabridged Bride is the brain child of bridal coach Liza Hippler and marriage and family counselor Marie McKinney-Oates. The bare bones concept of it came out of their very first meeting/conversation at a little Starbucks in Brentwood, TN. Their first concern was how to bring both coaching and counseling to brides and grooms in a very friendly and approachable way. Both Liza & Marie recognized that "pre-marital counseling" came across as a little stuffy and that "bridal coaching"...well, that bridal coaching was so new that people usually just ran from it.
These two sassy ladies have the same whole-hearted belief that people tend to jump into marriage in a fairly unconscious way, with a kind of romanticized idea of "happily ever after" and without ever discussing the "big" topics like kids, finances, values and communication styles (cont.)
Liza Hippler loves Unabridged Bride and wishes she had it when she was engaged. She's so excited to see it taking off and can't wait to share her knowledge and the knowledge of all the wonderful UB speakers with anyone willing to listen. After living in Los Angeles for 10 years, getting her BA in Theatre from USC and meeting her husband while doing improv comedy at The Second City, she has made Spring Hill her very welcome home with her loving husband, Tom, their dog, Sampson, and their soon-to-be baby Hippler! (coming June 2010!)

Once a couple begins to look at marriage on a deeper level, past the beauty of the wedding day and further into the idea that someone is "completing" you, a true, successful partnership can form.
And, along with all that, Liza and Marie love to see wonderful weddings, a glowing bride, a dashing groom and all the gloriousness that can happen on a wedding day. Which is why they've masterminded Unabridged Bride - to help brides create a wedding of their dreams that's grounded in personal values and keeps with a personal budget, and to help brides and grooms enter their lives together forever with open hearts and conscious minds.
Marie McKinney-Oates loves couples. Short couples, tall couples, weird couples. All couples. More than anything, she wants to teach them how to make their relationship as strong and loving as absolutely possible. After receiving her Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University she started Nashville Marriage Studio, a company committed to helping couples design the marriage of their dreams.
Marie practices what she preaches with her husband Mark and their two cats, Nala and Omi.
